My Opinion
I think the Kerrelyn's books just keep getting better!!!
Dougal is one of my favorite character's from the Love at Stake series. He is the loyal, strong, mystery man, that woman dream to meet. Only in this story Dougal has a major secret. The one memory that keeps him from happiness. Luckily, Leah enters.
Leah is sweet and SO out of place. She was brought in to find a cure for the genetic issue that plagued the soldiers that currently threaten our happy vamp family. She finds out that all her prior beliefs that vampire do not exist, is in fact wrong. A revelation that is a lot to handle, but she tries very hard. Then her attraction to Dougal blows her organized little mind.
The story is wonderful. A vampire in love, a human whose scared, and a major threat that causes evil to run amok.
I love how Kerrelyn takes this story. How she adds the angels from Conner's story in is majorly fun. I can't help but feel sorry for Dougal from the beginning and then again after the battle. What an amazing Vamp!!!
This book can stand alone, but I do recommend to read some of the other wonderful books in the Love at Stake series to get a real growing love for these vamps and their battles.
Well done again Kerrelyn, I can't wait to see whose book is next....Maybe a Weretiger?????
