The Pleasure Garden

Title:The Pleasure Garden

Pub Date:03/28/2011
ISBN:9780373605545
Many lifetimes ago, the beautiful May Queen exquisite seduction not with her husband, but in the arms of the Green Man—the passionate ruler of all that is warm and light. And thus began the earth's most torrid love triangle.
Now three women of diverse eras are drawn to the mystical site of the Celtic queen's tragic demise. Their fiery obsession ignited by Beltane Magic is barely perceived, but erotically felt. With each kiss, their passion would break an ancient curse— and reunite a love most profound….

This book is actually in three parts, all three written in different eras and by different authors. Each story  has an outcome to the main storyline, but none interact with the other, which  takes this book on an amazing adventure.
The first story, by far my favorite, involves a Celtic maiden and an English man during the Beltane festival. Years later that same woman had a secret and his so called GOOD friend has a plan of his own.
I truly love Edmund....and wanted to spit Gregory!!!!!  Amanda McIntyre did a wonderful job defining her characters in this story, the plot was inviting and the outcome welcoming.

The second story was OK, it's one I've heard many of times and I think that's why I didn't get into it as much as the others. Not that it was bad or anything like that, because it wasn't. It involved a daughter getting married to gain money for her family not for love. Her dad gambled and it was the only way. Her heart belong to the cousin who went to war and came back not whole ( as to say....nope, not giving that part away). Charolette Featherstone's characters were written well, the story line was a bit over done, the out come did help, but not my fave of the stories, still a good read though.

The final story and the saddest of the three to start. A widow of war, with only a house to remind her of her love lost....so freakin sad!!!!  Then a man shows up at her door sick, being a nurse, of course she helps him. Falls for him more like it. Then finds out that he there to take the house she wasn't suppose to have be given...wow!!! Kristi Astor's characters were a lot fun to read as the interacted throughout their story. I really enjoyed when the ex-fiancee showed up at the door....too sweet!!!!!!

My how a garden grows.....LOL
If you're looking for a little romance with some spice then I'd pick this up
