The Countess

Yes....another book by Lynsay Sands.
(But, we all know she's one of my favorites....LOL)
This is the much awaited first book in her new historical romance series.

The fairy tale courtship did not turn into a happily ever after…
Not until her husband dropped dead, that is. He had been horrible enough to Christiana during their short marriage, and she was not going to allow the traditional period of mourning to ruin her sisters’ debuts as well. So Christiana decides to put him on ice and go on as if nothing’s happened…
Until the real earl appears. Richard Fairgrave had every intention of confronting his villainous twin who robbed him of his name and title…only to discover that he’d died. Quietly assuming his identity, Richard must now deal with a maddening desire for his ravishing inherited “wife”—certainly a gold digger and possibly a murderess. And Christiana must deal with an unwanted new “husband”…and they both must figure out what to do before the ice melts!

This is a great start to the series....corpse on ice...wife trying her hardest to see her husband's "strawberry"... a sister trying to get married to save the family.... another who reads WAY too many romance novels....and don't for get the butler that's always there when you least expect him to be!

Christiana marriage to husband of one year Richard Fairgave,"Dicky", is HELLISH. He’s had her holed up in their London townhouse and turns away all of her visitors. He failed at the last attempt to turn away her sisters when they arrived early in the morning with horrid news of their father's gambling. When Christiana and her sisters find "Dicky" dead in his study she’s not the least bit sadden. Her sisters immediately stop her from telling anyone about the death so that they can have their debuts and one can find a husband immediately so that they can pay their father’s gambling debts. They manage to roll "Dicky’s" dead body up in a rug and put him on ice in his room and attend a ball that night.

Imagine the women's amazement when "Dicky" walks into the ball! Only they eventually come to find out that this isn’t "Dicky".... this is the REAL Richard, "Dicky’s" twin and "Dicky" wasn’t "Dicky" at all, but George, Richard’s twin.  "Dicky"..aka..George had his twin, Richard, killed a year ago only Richard didn’t die. George then proceeded to take over Richard’s life but obviously someone wanted him dead.

After looking at all of his options Richard believes that his best would be to step into the life that George had made. But that also means that Christiana would be his wife.
It would be the best for everyone, there was just that little problem of finding out who wanted him dead for the second time...?

As with all Lynsay Sands books... this book has it's fair share of humor, sex, humorous sex, and of course men who think they know women....(Yes, I had to throw that in...LOL)
What you're asking..... Who kill him???
Does one of her sister's find a man???
If I told you then you wouldn't by the book now would you???

*Hugs*

Deanna Seglem

Deanna Seglem

Today's post isn't a book review, it's a person of interest.
She isn't someone famous, or published , or even someone you might know.
Her name as you can see above is Deanna or Dee to her friends and today is her birthday. I won't say how old she is, but she's older than 18 and younger than me....lol
She has a VERY BIG crush on John Cusack, she is involved in the Cure for Autism, and I'm proud to say I call her MY SISTER! (even if not by blood...who cares!)

Dee is the one you can call and ask for something totally off the wall...like showing up as a fairy at the airport for your daughter's birthday......

Don't get me wrong she does crazier things...
can we say Stalker much???
Yep...That's him JOHN CUSACK!!!!!!
(She went to a Cubs game just because he was gonna be there...LOL)

She is an amazing person, hard to believe she's still single. All in all I'm truly blessed to have Dee in my life and all the memories we have share up to this point and the memories we have yet to share. Some we can't believe we ever did and others we are amazed we haven't done again. Then again we are a bit older now and wiser....lol.

Maybe everyone has a Dee in their lives...the one person that makes memories with you, without you, but always remembers no matter what they're doing they make sure they make you laugh and always love you...

I Love You, Dee
and I hope you have an Amazing Birthday
maybe one day I'll kidnap John for you...lol
Here's to dreaming!
