If I Were You By Lisa Renee Jones *OMG!!!!!*

If I Were You ....
Synopsis:
How it all started…
One day I was a high school teacher on summer break, leading a relatively uneventful but happy life. Or so I told myself. Later, I’d question that, as I would question pretty much everything I knew about me, my relationships, and my desires. It all began when my neighbor thrust a key to a storage unit at me. She’d bought it to make extra money after watching some storage auction show. Now she was on her way to the airport to elope with a man she barely knew, and she needed me to clear out the unit before the lease expired.

Soon, I was standing inside a small room that held the intimate details of another woman’s life, feeling uncomfortable, as if I was invading her privacy. Why had she let these items so neatly packed, possessions that she clearly cared about deeply, be lost at an auction? Driven to find out by some unnamed force, I began to dig, to discover this woman’s life, and yes, read her journals—-dark, erotic journals that I had no business reading. Once I started, I couldn’t stop. I read on obsessively, living out fantasies through her words that I’d never dare experience on my own, compelled by the three men in her life, none of whom had names. I read onward until the last terrifying dark entry left me certain that something had happened to this woman. I had to find her and be sure she was okay.

Before long, I was taking her job for the summer at the art gallery, living her life, and she was nowhere to be found. I was becoming someone I didn’t know. I was becoming her.

The dark, passion it becomes…

Now, I am working at a prestigious gallery, where I have always dreamed of being, and I’ve been delivered to the doorstep of several men, all of which I envision as one I’ve read about in the journal. But there is one man that will call to me, that will awaken me in ways I never believed possible. That man is the ruggedly sexy artist, Chris Merit, who wants to paint me. He is rich and famous, and dark in ways I shouldn’t find intriguing, but I do. I so do. I don’t understand why his dark side appeals to me, but the attraction between us is rich with velvety promises of satisfaction. Chris is dark, and so are his desires, but I cannot turn away. He is damaged beneath his confident good looks and need for control, and in some way, I feel he needs me. I need him.

All I know for certain is that he knows me like I don’t even know me, and he says I know him. Still, I keep asking myself — do I know him? Did he know her, the journal writer, and where is she? And why doesn’t it seem to matter anymore? There is just him and me, and the burn for more.

My Opinion:
Chick is missing...Maybe....at least according to her journals found in her unpaid storage unit...school teacher assumes life of "missing" chick...what could go wrong.....LOL

So....I'm on a total emotional roller coaster and right now we've stop at the very top of the giant hill......but DAMN IT the book ended before the ride!!!!!

I soooo what to know where the heck is Rebecca ( did she run off or is she dead) and I'm I the only one that finds it odd that Ella is missing in action???

I'm in love with the chaos of this story...Is it Chris or is it Mark....or damn it I bet it's both of them.....I'm so freaking lost...
It such a turmoil of twists I think it's the one, but then something gets thrown in to change my mind. They're both playing mind games I just have to figure out who's game to checkmate!!!
I really like Chris. I would have most likely have done him too, rich, hot, famous artist.....oh yeah...I so would have been up against that window in a heartbeat!!!!

Still that man is hiding something major!!! Even though he showed Sara Mark's dirty secret...I still say he is hiding something.

Sara...Sara...Sara...I like her, but sometimes I really wonder about her. At first, I was really confused by her need to find Rebecca. I mean WTF, people buy storage lockers to sell people's stuff...not to return it to the people it belonged to. However, those journals were rather HOT!!! OMG!!! Poor little innocent school teacher needs to get out more.....LOL

Then she puts herself in Rebecca's life...Man I'm wondering how exactly she thinks this is gonna end for her...As she put it Chris and Mark are already having a who's Sword is bigger war....

Mark, is a piece of work. My thoughts are out on him. I know he is totally hiding a HELL of a lot. I just don't know if he's the one behind it all or not. I do know he's not well liked, but he tries so hard to be a protecting boss...over tries.

As Sara digs deeper into Rebecca, she's totally finding herself in the process. Which makes for an AWESOME read. It's like watching a rose bud blossom....but the thorns are catching her...
I can't wait to see who was the cause of the popping noises and the footsteps in the next book....the wait is gonna kill me...

Serious You all HAVE to read this..... TRUST ME!!!
Go and BUY.....BUY......BUY......BUY!!!!!!

Seventeen year-old Daphne Janus is floored when her parents agree to let her accompany her best friend to a getaway resort on an island off the coast of California. She doesn't know her parents have sent her to the Purgatorium as a last-ditch effort to save their child.
Her best friend and life-long neighbor takes her to a mostly uninhabited island with a wildlife preserve on one side and Chumash Indian ruins on the “haunted” side. The resort might be beautiful, the beach pristine, and the views from the headland amazing, but strange things begin to happen that soon have Daphne running for her life. At first she finds the therapeutic games thrilling: the ghosts that visit her room, the dropping elevator, and the kayak incident are actually kind of fun once she recovers from them. But when her horse bucks her off during a trail ride and she becomes lost on the haunted side of the island, it’s not fun anymore, and she wonders if her parents have sent her there to help her or to punish her.

Cry Wolf By Karen Fuller

Cry Wolf  By Karen Fuller
Amanda Archer is on the fast track to success. At twenty-five she has just about everything she’s ever wanted. She has complete control of her life…until she meets Marco.

Marco De Lucia is a very influential man. Handsome, rich, and very powerful. Marco has a secret that few know about and live to tell it. He’s a wolf.

From the moment Marco steps into Amanda’s life everything spins out of her control. Marco tells her about fate, destiny and her obligations. She was born to be his...

Marco has waited three hundred years to finally find Amanda and fulfill their destiny. He knows who she is...he just has to convince her of that.

There are others that aren’t too excited that Marco’s found his mate. Others that will stop at nothing to make sure the prophecy isn’t fulfilled...

 My OPINION
I don't know where I stand on this book...it's like a full course meal. I honestly didn't come away hungry after reading it....I kinda wanted to see what else this author could do...LOL

Amanda, is the that girl who's working, dating a loser (doesn't know it yet) , and has a secret hidden inside, which is also hidden from her. She's a rather fun character...at first I thought she was going to be this shy, stand off-ish prude, man was I wrong!!! One bottle of 200 year old "wine" from the new boss and that notion was thrown out the window.
Her character turned out to be a strong, very sexual, vixen, that I personally enjoyed. However, I don't think Charlie enjoyed her very much...such an A$$hole anyway...I honestly think he got what he deserved!!!
But, hey we all can't be mated to a very hot Marco...can we now!?!?!?!?!

Now on to my favorite character....Marco!!!!
Wholly Boogers!!!! Could an author create a better wolf for me to drool over????????
Thank You SO MUCH!!!!
He is the poster of old world  charm....a walking sex-pot....and he soooooo lives up to his "Dreamy" status.
I love how he fulfills the prophecy, although rather sneaky in some ways....down right sexy as hell!!
I guess when you know your mate, you'd do anything and everything to get them.......

As the story progresses the scenes between our two mates get more intense. Just when you think you're almost done with your main course of your reading meal....this author blows your minds with a twist right out of Germany......One that throws our little mates in turmoil......and we haven't even got to dessert.
Let me tell you the ending of this book is NOTHING like you would think....
I personally would have his A$$ if he told me something like that....I mean what the heck really less than 5 weeks????? Wholly Boogers!!!!!
Well Done Ms. Fuller....Feel Free to set me up with any of your heroes.....I mean if they give as good as this one....I'm game!!!!

Amanda stood outside Mr. De Lucia’s closed door, trying to put her thoughts together. “Entri Benvenuto, Amanda, si prega di avere un posto a sedere.” Amanda felt a moment of panic. “Huh?” she managed to squeak. “Uh, I mean pardon me?” She heard him chuckle softly through the closed door, and the sound reminded her of the man in her dream. The memory sent goosebumps up her arm. “I said ‘Come in. Welcome, Amanda, please have a seat.’” Maybe it wasn’t a dream, she thought. That voice is the same. But that’s impossible...or is it? What do I do now? “What do you do? You do as you’re instructed, tesoro. Entri now, per favore...please.” Did he just hear my thoughts? “I am not accustomed to repeating myself, tesoro.” “Yes, sir,” she said as she twisted the knob and pushed the door open. “I’m sorry. I haven’t been myself today. It’s been a weird two days actually. I—” Her train of thought fled as her gaze now rested on the elusive Mr. De Lucia.  The eyes, they are the same eyes in my dream, but how? Forget the eyes, and don’t be stupid, Amanda. You need to look at the total picture. Stacey wasn’t exaggerating, she thought. The man’s gorgeous. He smiled as if he heard her thoughts, flashing perfectly straight white teeth, and she felt her heart flutter. His features were classic Italian…firm jaw, straight nose, well defined lips, black wavy hair framed his face, and he sported a slight five o’clock shadow. As he stood, he held out his hand to her. The man was tall, well over six feet as Stacey had said. The dark grey Armani suit fit well and accentuated his muscles. Her gaze caught a glint of gold from his left hand pinkie finger. The ring was a snarling wolf with rubies for eyes. “Do I measure up?” Startled, she only half heard what he said. “I’m sorry, what?” Her gaze met his. “You are staring. Do I measure up, tesoro?” She felt the heat rise to her cheeks. “I’m sorry, that was rude of me,” she said as she reached for his outstretched hand. “I’m not normally this flustered…it’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Mr. De Lucia.” “Marco,” he said as his hand enveloped her smaller one. His touch sent sensations up her arm, causing her eyes to widen. “Think nothing of it. It is nice to be regarded so well by a bella donna. Please, be seated.” He let go of her hand and leaned on the edge of his desk while she sat in the chair. He crossed his arms over his chest and regarded her. “I trust you’re feeling better?” “Feeling better?” “You missed work yesterday.” “Oh, that.” She looked away. “I wasn’t sick…I can’t really explain it.” “Do you make a habit of missing work?” She looked back to him sharply, emitting a low growl. “Certainly not!” He laughed softly. “Good, good!” he said as he clapped his hands together once. “You do have some spirit after all. You’re not the timid mouse you just portrayed yourself to be.” Amanda blinked in shock. “But…but I just growled at you. I’m sorry, I…I don’t know what came over me.” Marco pushed away from the desk, then took her hands in his. “Do not apologize for being yourself il mio amore. You hide your passion, deep within yourself, but I can see it there, the alfa lupo, begging to surface. I can sense her calling to mine. Do not be afraid to be yourself around me. Eravamo fatti per stare insieme, il mio amore.” “I don’t speak Italian, Marco, so I don’t understand. What is an alfa lu—?”
He squeezed her hands, then let go and leaned back against the desk. “Alfa lupo is alpha wolf.” Alpha wolf, what in the hell is that supposed to mean? And what does he mean, mine calls to his? He smiled again as if he heard her thoughts. Did he just read my thoughts? The smile broadened. She narrowed her eyes and slammed her hand down on the arm of the chair. “Tell me what that last sentence you just said means.” “Eravamo fatti per stare insieme, il mio amore?” She nodded. “It translates to ‘we were meant to be together, my love.’” She stood, then started backing toward the door. “And tesoro?” “Sweetheart.” Amanda’s back slammed against the door as her fingers fumbled for the doorknob. “This, this is sexual harassment. There are laws against this kind of behavior in a workplace.” “Human laws do not concern me, tesoro.” He took a step toward her and she plastered herself further against the door. “And they shouldn’t concern you either, il mio amore.”  “You talk like you’re not human.” When he nodded her eyes bugged. “You’re implying that you’re not human?” “No, we are not.” “We?” She swallowed hard. “You and I….” She shook her head frantically. “I am not a human.” He reached up and ran his knuckles gently across her cheek. “Neither are you, il mio amore.” “If you’re not human, then what are you?” Her voice was barely a whisper. “We are lupo, wolf.” Amanda felt light headed and swayed on her feet. Marco pulled her into his arms and rubbed his cheek against hers. “Tu sei la mia anima gemella, Amanda. Ho aspettato 300 anni per la vostra nascita.” He sighed. “Scusi. In English. You are my soul mate, and I have waited three hundred years for your birth.” Amanda pushed away, then sat back down hard in the chair. “You are crazy. I am not a wolf and neither are you. Werewolves are myths, stories told to frighten children and the weak minded.” Marco flashed her a another smile. “Stories like this?” His soft brown eyes changed shape, turning golden and emanating a soft glow. Her own eyes saucered as she cringed in the chair. “This isn’t possible.” The smile left his face as he leaned forward and gripped her shoulders, his eyes now normal. “Never cower away from me.” His tone was forceful and commanding, then softened. “I will not hurt you, and I never meant to frighten you. You just needed a little convincing. Most all myths are based on truths, and this one is very true. We are lupo, il mio amore.” She took a quivering breath. “I am not a wolf and you…I don’t know what you—” “Liar!” he yelled as his grip tightened on her shoulders. She grit her teeth, emitting a low growl. “I. Do. Not. Lie!” Marco yanked her out of the chair, then turned her to face the mirror, forcing her to look at herself. “Look at your reflection, Amanda. See what I see when you are angry.” Amanda’s mouth dropped open as she gazed at her reflection. “You see, il mio amore? Look at your eyes.” She reached up and touched her face and then the mirror, her anger turning to disbelief as tears pooled on her bottom lashes. Her eyes glowed like his. “In the beginning, anger will be your trigger for the change. Your hormones will be raging and you will anger very easily. This will pass, and you will learn to control it.” “I…I don’t understand what’s happening to me.” Her voice broke. “This…this is not normal.” Her gaze met his in the reflection. “Last night I was eating raw meat and hearing
things I couldn’t possibly be hearing. This morning I nearly attacked a co-worker over something stupid, and now this.” The tears spilled from her lashes to course down her face, then her bottom lip quivered. “You’re obviously behind all this. What have you done to me? I’m a freak.” Marco gently turned her to face him, cupping her face in the palms of his hands, gazing intently into her eyes. “What have I done to you?” She swallowed hard, then nodded. “I have done nothing but awaken your inner wolf. She has always been there just below the surface…impatiently waiting.” “She?” He nodded. “What is ‘she’ waiting for?” The corners of his mouth turned up in a slight smile as he answered. “She was waiting to be claimed by me.” Amanda caught her breath. “Was?” “We are a proud and superior race, Amanda.” His thumb slid across her cheek, brushing away a tear. “Be proud of who you are. You are not a freak, you are my miracle, il mio compagno.”  “You didn’t answer my question.” “You are mine, Amanda. You bear my mark.” He moved her open collar aside and brushed the marks on her shoulder with his fingertips. Her brow furrowed as she strained to see. She pushed away from him and turned to the mirror, baring her shoulder fully, and glared at the marks in the mirror. “No other would dare touch you.” Amanda lifted her hands and wiped the remaining tears from her cheeks. Her eyes narrowed as she scowled at him in the mirror’s reflection, her jaw set, her upper lip curled back in a snarl. He threw his head back and laughed. “Tu sei magnifico, il mio amore. Tale fuoco e bellezza.” (You are magnificient, my love. Such fire and beauty.) She balled her fists and whirled around to face him. “I’ll show you a firey beauty!” He stopped laughing and regarded her statement, a slight smirk still remaining. “So, you understood what I said?” “Sì,” she seethed as she reared back her fist and punched him in the nose. Marco’s eyes widened in surprise as he brought his hand up to cover his nose.  “Arrogante bastardo!” she spat as she brought her fist up again to strike. His open palm caught her fist, and he wrenched her hand behind her back, bringing her chest up to his. Her chest heaved against his body as she struggled to free herself. “Let me go, Marco, or I swear to God I will hurt you. I can see for myself that you bleed as any other man.” Even as she spoke the words the blood faded. He brought his other hand up and brushed the hair from her eyes. “You cannot hurt me, my little alfa lupo. We are mates. It is in our genes that a mate cannot hurt the other.” Her mouth dropped open. He smiled. “You see, between mates the sex can get a little...rough.” He shrugged. “Our genetics protect us from unintentional harm from the other.” “How about intentional harm?” she growled as her knee connected with his groin.  He let go of her hand, but didn’t double over as she had expected. Instead, he wrapped his arms around her and drew her body fully to his. She brought her hands up to push against his chest. “That hurt,” he said, his lips a hair’s-breadth from hers. She grinned. “Good. I meant for it to hurt. Now let me go.” Marco quirked an eyebrow, then brought a hand down to cup her ass and brought her hips firmly against his erection. “No.” The smile dropped from Amanda’s face as her brow furrowed in disbelief. “That’s impossible. I just kneed you there. There is no way—”
His lips covered hers, taking her by surprise and halting her protest in mid-sentence. Amanda’s body betrayed her turbulent thoughts by clutching him to her, relaxing further in his arms as his tongue slipped past her parted lips to dance frantically with hers. The kiss was electrifying, setting her body on fire as she kissed him back. A yearning settled deep in her core. A low moan escaped the back of her throat when Marco deepened the kiss and pushed her back up against the wall, wedging his leg between hers. He lifted her leg, draping it around his hip, and rocked into her. She tore her mouth from his and stared into his eyes as she lifted her other leg and locked them both around his hips. She breathed in deeply and felt her canine teeth elongate as his scent overwhelmed her. Placing her nose in the crook of his neck, she inhaled again. “You smell like ambrosia.” Her voice sounded foreign to her ears.  “You smell the same to me.” She nodded as his lips grazed her neck. “It is the way between mates.” Tilting her head, she allowed him better access. “Soon you will sense me even though you cannot see me.” “Intoxicating…I feel so strange…I want to taste….” Amanda closed her eyes and ran her tongue from his collarbone to nip his neck just below his earlobe. “Mmmmm.” He tasted as good as he smelled. The urge to bite was almost overwhelming as she felt his cock swell more, and he rocked into her again.  “Keep that up, il mio amore, and you won’t be leaving my office anytime soon.” Her eyes flew open and locked with his. “I would love nothing better than to tear the clothes from your luscious body and pleasure us both until we are both sated...but?” Amanda dropped her legs and looked away. “Oh, God. What am I doing?” She pushed away from him and took a step toward the door, making an effort to hurriedly tuck in her blouse. “I’ve got to go…this can’t happen again.” Marco gripped her shoulders from behind, stopping her in her tracks, and nipped at her neck. She closed her eyes and shivered. “This will happen again, il mio amore. Count on it. You are mine. Next time?” “Marco, there can’t be a next time.” “Next time I will lay you over my desk and feast upon that luscious body of yours.” She shivered again. “And I will not stop until you’ve screamed my name at least a dozen times and we’ve both had our fill.”

The Beckoning of BadAss Things, excerpts:

Excerpt 1
I stand before the giant trunk. “Sixteen inches. Hmm. Well, I know the width of my outstretched hand.” I stoop before the top of the tree and measure off an approximation of the required amount. I pick up a wood chip and place it on the tree to mark my chosen guide, stand back, retrieve my sword and power it on. This time, when I direct the light, it pings against the wood, barely nicks it and sputters, like I’m using a dull blade. “How odd.” I try again. Same thing. “Maybe it needs more juice. What do you think, Sober?”
He wags his tail.
“My thoughts exactly.” I let more energy flow through my system, direct it out the glistening tip and this time, the top of the tree explodes. Both dogs yip and jump away. “Shit! Gah!” My head whips around to stare in the direction of the house. I sure hope Tom and Daniel aren’t in the yard, watching. I don’t see them anywhere so I turn back to the tree.
Sawdust litters the clearing where at least sixteen inches of wood used to be. “Now there’s my problem,” I say. “Too much energy. I need to control it more. I’m always, all, ‘let’s let er rip’, Engles. ‘Don’t hold back from free expression.’ ‘Death to suppression.’” I tick off catch-phrases I used to guide my life as an artist. “Well, this time,” I say to my sparkling canine, “we’re going to learn to contain all this wonderful life force and use it the way I want to use it.”
------------------
Excerpt 2
“So,” Daniel says, ignoring us, clearly in command. “Marissa has informed me that we have a situation to deal with once we reach the Shadow Lands. My father,” he says, his lip curling in disgust, “is no longer in a coma, apparently not incapacitated either. He’s gathered his evil allies to take Marissa down, and the rest of us, no doubt, as collateral damage.”
“As if we didn’t have enough to deal with,” River says, pressing his lips into a crisp line.
“Armando?” Rafe says, choking on his drink.
“One and the same,” Daniel says.
“I saw your mother shoot him in the heart,” Rafe says.
“He’s very much alive. I made a few calls before you got here. They’ve formed a coalition called Guerreros del diablo - the devil’s warriors. They’ve splintered off from the Numina. They’re not allowed in the ether meetings anymore but Tom thinks they have a mole planted on the inside.”
“Did Tom already know about this?” I ask, frowning.
“No. He didn’t know. It’s been forming in secret since we got our orders to accompany you to find the sisters. After I contacted him, he made a few calls and that’s all he could discern. He’s busy gathering data as we speak.” He glances at his Movado wristwatch. “We have to meet him in the garden at about twenty after. We’ll have a brief ether meeting to hear what he’s discovered.”
We all nod.
“I’ve got some contacts. I can call in a favor or two,” Rafe says. “See what they know.”
“Same,” River adds. “I can find out a thing or three as well.”
“Good.” Daniel nods, satisfied. He places a hand on my thigh and draws it up the inside, slowly, deliberately. “We’ve got to keep this woman safe.”
---------------
Excerpt 3
“You live in one fucked up world, Stealth Numen,” Daniel says.
“How so?” Rafe asks him.
“Well…look around.” He gestures toward the Dali like environment. “Birds flutter from tree to tree, twittering and chirping in a crazy chorus of reverberating songs, landing on branches and melting like wax, oozing into stains of color like Marissa’s paints. Nests appear, filled with eggs, where the birds once stood. Miniscule beaks break free from shells and baby birds appear, chirping insistently with their mouths open. Adult birds land, feed them, and the baby birds become fledgling adults, spreading their wings. Meanwhile flowers bloom, wither and die, seeds spread in the wind, fall in the soil and sprout once more. I’d say that’s fucked up.”
Seasons accompany these swift changes. The atmosphere around the three males transforms into icy winds, blizzards, pouring rains, summer showers, baking heat and fall colors.
All of this happens within a couple minutes.
“Hope springs eternal here,” he says with a sarcastic edge. “And who says I live here?”
“Don’t you?”
--------------
Excerpt 4
“I want you to trust me.”
A small frown appears before I can catch it. “I do trust you,” I say, after a second’s hesitation.
“No,” he says, “you don’t.” His fingertips play along my sides, not quite ticklish, causing me to pull away. “I want you to trust me with your life.”
“I…I…” I can’t think what to say.
“Shhh,” he soothes. “Hands over your head. Let your light free.”
Another frown escapes. What does he want from me?
Shhh, he silently conveys.
I close my eyes, sourcing the place from where my energy flows. I sense its movement, erupting from my core, a wash of crackling blue and white lightning that streams through my spine and limbs, making me feel powerfully alive. “Like this? Is this what you want?”
“Yes,” he says. “Like that.” His hands navigate up my sides, tracing my ribcage, the hollows of my underarms, the sensitive skin of my inner arm, until he’s lacing his fingers with mine. His strong body is poised over me, hot, sexy, his breath landing on my cheeks, warm and moist. “I want you to trust me,” he repeats. He releases my hands and drags his fingertips along my wrists, stroking gently, deliberately, as if shaping and guiding my light.
Before I comprehend what he’s doing, my wrists draw together, bound tightly by filaments of light. The light buzzes and crackles, producing a slightly disturbing sensation in my wrists. “What’s this?” I say, a short laugh bursting from my throat. “I can just slip free from this, you know.”
He shakes his head, a small smile flashing across his face like quicksilver. “No,” he says. “You can’t.”
This is that other thing he does - since we’re soul bound, he can combine energy with mine and use it in ways I never dreamed. I tug and pull against my magnetic restraints. Nothing. “Okay, so maybe I can’t in this second. I’ll figure it out,” I say defiantly.
Another small shake of the head. He lifts his arms, like he’s the conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra.
My arms lift into the air. “What? What’s going on here?” I scramble to keep up with my arms as they’re tugged, firmly bound, heading toward the ceiling.

Excerpt 5
I turn the corner of this gray and brown world to see my dog Sober Dober barking at a face poking out from a rock. “Great, dog, you’re losing it, I already lost it. What a pair we are.” I stomp to him prepared to grab his collar and haul him away from the illusion. “This is a fantasy. We’re sharing the fantasy, but it’s not real,” I tell him, glancing at the gray and brown-eyed, bulbous nosed, chapped lips apparition. “Look.” I place my hand over the face, expecting to find rock, only to find warm flesh, accompanied by a slippery, pointy tongue licking the center of my palm. I leap back in surprise.
“Hungry, little girl?” the face says, his clownish leer revealing spiky yellow teeth.

“Oh, Jesus!” I say, rubbing my hand vigorously along my jumpsuit. “Now the illusions are talking back. Sober, we’ve got to find food.”

The Fun Part: Calinda B was told early on that she should be a writer. She heard frequent praise for her writing, as well as her sense of humor. Scoffing at such admonitions and praise, she went on to pursue her life of adventure, chock full of the things that make up a well-rounded adventurous life: music (yup, she was a singer in a rock and roll band), dance (even performed hip hop in Russia), rock climbing (ever hung from a rock wall a few stories up? Yikes!), fire walking (taught high-ranking Moscow fire officials how to walk the coals), kayaking, scuba diving (she’s in love with sharks), travel, and falling in love again and again.

Living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with the love of her life and her two cats, she has now chosen to put fingers to keyboard and write – when she’s not in pursuit of another adventure!

The Daily Grind: College educated and life-experienced, Calinda B has worked in the world of computers and technology for a long time. Before that she worked in the world of health and fitness, as well as art. Throughout her career she has relied on her writing abilities to write articles, ad copy and web content.

My Opinion
What can I say....It was very interesting! With the whole Hidden Cash thing going on right now across the world this whole story just became so REAL. However, that begs the question that our character Kate had to answer....is it for attention???

As the story goes, someone is leaving a huge sum of money on the door steps of people around the city and news reporter, Kate Bradley, is assigned the job of finding out not only why, but who. A job she not only doesn't want in the beginning, but as the story progresses, a job that changes her life forever!
Who would leave money on a front porch???

Kate I have to say is a hard character to like. I wanna like her, but then I wanna smack her upside the head. She's a love/hate kind of character....you love to hate her. She does some really stupid things. Lucky for her someone was there to save her from her stupidity, but still.

Eric Hayes.....Oh how I love our man in uniform!!!! He is like the wounded puppy of this story. Blames himself for his brother's death and only wants to do good in the world. Its such a sweet little love story that he fell for Kate....I so loved that he was there in the river :)

Then you have the Devil himself, Jack Hansen. He is just a work of art. Totally in it for himself. Everything thing he does is for himself. He has everyone, including Kate fooled. Anything to get you name out there. URGH!!!!

With all the things happening Kate knows things aren't adding up roses and she smells a rat.....JACK!!!!
After some digging......she finds the truth, but what she can run and what she can't will surprise you!
The story runs on the News and even the Network picks it up.
I don't wanna give away how it ends and it does...well kinda.  Kate may have found what she needed but the story goes on.

I would recommend this book to anyone!

MY THOUGHTS
Over all this was a rather fun little read. Only 11 chapters so it was short...NICE beach read!!!!!
I was pleasantly surprised with the reversed roles. Usually it's always the guy looking for the quick roll in the hay, no stings attached...this time it was the girl.
Destiny, was an interesting little number. It wasn't that she needed to go the route she did to meet Christian, it was more that she lost her edge thanks to Jax, her ex. Thus throwing her life into what it was.
Christian, our hottie, could have it all when he wanted it, but he was jealous of what his brothers had.....I think that's so sweet.....that moment when boys GROW UP!!!
As the story goes, it's a progress of them falling for each other...sweet and simple. Even Destiny's Nana give's her stamp of approval.
Of course nothing ever goes perfect and someone always has to screw something up....only this time it was the girl!!!! (What the H E double hockey sticks was she thinking?!?!?!?!?!?!?!)

Guess you have to read it to see if they get a happy ending or not...
Yep, I'm evil...

About the Author

Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, I relocated to South Florida, a sultry paradise I instantly fell in love with. Unlike most authors, I didn’t know I was destined to write. In fact, I worked in banking for many years, but deep down knew that it wasn’t my dream job. At the young age of thirty-five, my sister died of an illness. I realized the same thing could happen to me. There are no guarantees. I couldn’t waste another moment doing something I didn’t love. Writing was one of my greatest joys when I was growing up. While still working at the bank, I decided to enroll in an intensive course where I learned everything I could about the craft. It didn’t take long before I left the bank to pursue a writing career.

Now living in coastal North Carolina, I’m married, have two children and a super cute Dachshund I can't get enough of. I write contemporary romance and I'm published with Kensington Publishing and Lyrical Press. I feel truly blessed to be able to share my stories. I only wish I could have shared them with my sister.
